Pew: Here’s How Badly Soviet Atheism Failed In Europe

A new large study from the Pew Research Center of 18 former Soviet countries shows the importance of religion in the region despite the legacy of its Soviet atheist past. According to Pew, only 14% of people in the region identity as atheist or agnostic, while 57% identify as Orthodox and 18% identify as Catholic.
