Q11 #28,  I think you will find that all believers from all rellgions will say the same as you.  Each believer believes that he/she (plus like minded people) is correct.  It is the nature of religious belief.

Please can we try and keep to the topic of the thread?  I actually find this an interesting discussion.

JB:

Yes, I think He could.  But since I think logic is grounded in God's nature, and that omnipotence could do even the illogical, that is not an issue (though it raises other issues). He doesn't cease to be omnipotent because His nature is rational and good, and thus He won't do that which is irrational/illogical or wrong - like permentaly giving up omnipotence.

If God's nature means he won't do what is illogical and his nature can't change then God can't do the illogical full stop.

Emuse #31,  sorry; it's just so easy to be led astray...

So if God is the omni God, He obviously can perform a one-way change and give up omni-ness to some degree - a one way street because He couldn't give Himself more capabilities.

So is the omni-ness shared between the three members of the Trinity?  Or is God alone the omni-one with JC and the HS having lesser capabilities - in their terrestrial existence they seem to be this way.  So when JC and the HS are back in Heaven with God, is omni-ness restored?  If so, it would be God who did the restoration.  This would make God the Boss Omni Dude.

Depends how you use the word 'can't'.  Also, His nature can change.  He just doesn't want it to.

No problem ... and I know!

Not according to the two nature hypothesis.  According to that view, the Word didn't stop being God (so didn't stop being maximally excellent) but took on a human nature in addition to his divine nature and so ended up with two natures.  Language-Gamer has posted a video on this at least twice in the past.  The question is whether that view is coherent or not?

This is a really good question.  I think that the doctrine of the trinity suffers coherency issues on the basis of equivocation.  On the one hand "God" is the sum (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) whilst on the other hand "God" is the nature shared by those persons.  The terms have different meanings but seem to be used interchangeably as though they mean the same thing.  A good way of expressing the problem would be as follows.  Imagine that you meet a human being with one body whose mind contains three personalities who go by different names and you can interact with each of those personalities individually.  How many humans are you talking to?
